FIFA has sold the U.S. media rights for the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups to Netflix, marking the streamer’s most ambitious move into live sports. The deal covers both English- and Spanish-language coverage, though financial details were not shared. This is the first time the U.S. rights for the women’s tournament have been sold separately from the men’s event. Previous editions were carried by Fox and Telemundo under combined packages.

With Brazil set to host the 2027 edition and the 2031 host still undecided, U.S. Soccer is expected to bid again for the 2031 tournament. If the U.S. wins hosting rights, viewership on Netflix would likely rise even further.
