Lindsey Vonn Crashes in Downhill Event - American ski legend Lindsey Vonn suffered a serious crash early in the women’s downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Vonn, 41, had competed shortly after tearing her ACL and was airlifted to a hospital after the crash and underwent surgery for a broken left leg. This ended her Olympic run and likely brought her competitive skiing career to a close. Meanwhile, teammate Breezy Johnson went on to win the gold medal in the event.
Djokovic’s Record-Setting Australian Open Run - Novak Djokovic’s run to the Australian Open final saw him set or extend several major career records. He became only the second player ever to amass 100+ career wins at the Australian Open and also recorded 400 career Grand Slam match wins, a first in tennis history for any player, male or female. He also broke records for most appearances and advanced beyond many historical winning streak milestones.
